Bee Gardens for the team at Poplar
The community team at London Housing Association Poplar Harca wanted to plant bee friendly plants in their raised gardens and combined it with a community learning day for children and their parents.
Ana-Mae who co-ordinated the event said, “The colourful yellow planters are a valuable addition to the existing wooden grow beds in the Teviot Centre Community Garden”.
They have been really attractive to the young children who participated in our Easter event who were very pleased to have been able to plant flowers for the bees such as lavender and Geraniums.
They have asked the community gardeners to please look after them so the bees won’t starve”.
Overall the bee garden included Geraniums, Violas, Cuphea hyssopifolia, Gardenea Jasmina, and Ceanothurs Thynsiflorus.
